Korean Chicken Wings

What things do I need ?

• ¼ cup of hot honey (such as Mike's Hot Honey (R))

• 3 tablespoons gochujang (Korean hot pepper paste)

• 1 tablespoon of brown sugar

• 1 tablespoon soy sauce

• 1 teaspoon lemon juice

• 2 teaspoons chopped garlic

• 1 teaspoon finely chopped fresh ginger root

• ½ teaspoon of salt

• ¼ teaspoon of black pepper

• ¼ cup finely chopped green onions (only green part)

Wings:

• 2 pounds of chicken wings

• 1 teaspoon of salt

• 1 teaspoon garlic powder

• 1 teaspoon onion powder

• ½ teaspoon of black pepper

• ½ cup of cornflour

Garnish:

• 2 tablespoons chopped green onions

• 1 teaspoon of sesame seeds

How to do ?

✓ Combine hot honey, gochujang, brown sugar, soy sauce, lemon juice, garlic, ginger, salt and black pepper in a pan. Bring the sauce to the boil over medium heat, lower the heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Add green onions and stir.

✓ Preheat the fryer to 200 degrees C (400 degrees F).

✓ Place the wings in a large bowl and mix with salt, garlic powder, onion powder and black pepper. Add cornflour and throw the wings until they are completely coated. Shake each wing and place it in the basket of the air fryer, making sure that they do not touch each other; cook in portions if necessary.

✓ Bake in the preheated fryer for 10 minutes, shake the basket and bake for another 10 minutes. Turn the wings and cook until the chicken is cooked and the juices are clear for another 7 to 8 minutes.

✓ Dip each wing in the sauce and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve with the remaining sauce on the side.
